A cafe displaying household objects from Saigon of the 1960s to the 1980s

The word Thi in the cafe's name is the middle name commonly given to Vietnamese women of earlier generations. The owner is Tran Thi Anh Tuyet, originally from Sa Dec, who opened the place in 2016. What marks the cafe out are real objects from Saigon life between the 1960s and the 1980s: a cathode-ray television, a record player, a sewing machine, an old water tank. They are on display because they were ordinary things in Saigon households of that time, not props built for a set. The iced milk coffee here is poured into a short-necked glass rather than the tall glass most places use today. The entrance hides behind branches hanging down over the tiled roof and the lanterns strung above, so you have to look for it.
