A memorial in Vinh Loc to the men and women frontline civilian workers of 1968, with a three-metre bronze statue

About 20 km from the city centre, on the road named Dan Cong Hoa Tuyen (Frontline Civilian Workers), also called Nu Dan Cong (Women Civilian Workers) Road, is a relic site commemorating the men and women frontline civilian workers of the Tet Offensive of Mau Than 1968. It was designated a historical relic under Decision No. 119/QD-UBND of the City People's Committee dated 12 July 2005. The site is tied to the night of 15 June 1968. As on so many other nights, the group of frontline civilian workers had the task of carrying wounded soldiers from the Tan Hoa 1 crossroads across the pineapple fields and the Lang Sau marshland down to Binh Thuy, and of hauling weapons and ammunition to the Saigon – Gia Dinh front, crossing the marshy fields of hamlet 4 on the way. The site honours the men and women civilian workers who gave their lives in the Tet Offensive of Mau Than 1968. At the entrance is an imposing three-entrance gate, a red granite stele and a three-metre bronze statue depicting the civilian workers carrying the wounded and ammunition. The memorial house, built in traditional architectural style, preserves photographs and mementos of the fallen workers. In March 2025, the site added an exhibition house combined with a Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space. Each year, a memorial ceremony for the frontline civilian workers is held on the 20th day of the 5th lunar month. This is one of the seven destinations on the tourism map of the former Binh Chanh district.
