A 12-ha memorial site in Tan Nhut with a 90 m bronze relief and an underground exhibition hall on the 1968 Tet Offensive

Located in Hamlet 1, Tan Nhut Commune, about 20 km from the city centre, the Revolutionary Tradition Site of the General Offensive and Uprising of Tet Mau Than 1968 commemorates the cadres, soldiers and civilians who died in the 1968 General Offensive, and is also a place of historical education for many generations. Construction began in 2013; the architectural and landscape works were inaugurated on 9 October 2020. The site covers about 12 ha, with one main gate and two side gates. Directly facing the main gate is a red-bronze relief 9 m high and 90 m long, depicting the attacks on the nerve centres of Saigon during the two waves of the Tet Mau Than offensive; the central group of statues portrays youth volunteers, liberation troops, logistics forces and frontline porters. Around it are a stele house inscribed with a poem by Professor Vu Khieu, a cast-bronze flame, four attack arrows pointing east, west, south and north, a lotus pond and a flag-raising area. The tradition house lies in a circular basement 6 m below ground, covering 3,200 m², with exhibits arranged into four themes: context and preparations; the course of the General Offensive in Saigon – Gia Dinh from 31 January to 18 June 1968; gratitude and remembrance; and a historic turning point. Visitors can also see a diorama combined with documentary film, 23 display boxes recreating secret bunkers used to hide weapons, and a 1:1 scale recreation of the fighting on Minh Phung Street. On the "Binh Chanh – Xin chao" and "Binh Chanh – Untold Stories" itineraries, the memorial site is the stop that follows the Lang Le – Bau Co Historical Site.
